Commentary on the Nixon Peabody it's-not-a-theme song debacle. (Pardon the typos. It was a rush job.) |

Oh, I forgot to tell you. I was doing some research on President Nixon when I found this! Talk about lawyers!

Seems to me Nixon Peabody got superior publicity in major publications by being a bitch. There is no such thing as bad publicity!Ask the surviving members of OJ Simpson's "Dream Team!"PS: Robert Vaughn, please come home!

wait...if youtube is a 100% free website how can they make them take it down even if it is copywrited...copywriteing is used to keep people from makeing money off other peoples idea...not to stop people from shareing other peoples ideas

Do they do IP law? Because after that abusive takedown notice, no copyright law student with a brain is going to want to work there. Just sayin'.

When I say "former" employee, I mean I'm an attorney who worked there in the late 90's and/or early 2000's. I left to pursue a better position elsewhere, but I'd like to think I'm still a winner... ; )

Hi! I'm Mary Barones daughter, Emily. My Mom is a secratary for some guy at NP. She thought your video is funny! I guess it is. Anywyas, I do agree that Nixon Peabody was kind of a sore loser. I think it was funny and they should've laughed along. By the way, former NP person, do you work there still? What does former mean? I might know you. Also, iwrubles, don't talk about my mom's law firm that way! I know they were pretty retarded. But still you don't have to be so excited they got mad.

I am a winrar at a rival law firm, and as a litigator, I am delighted by their pain. The takedown notice was (and while I often use this word lightly, here I mean it) retarded. I didn't think partners were even capable of spazzing out that bad.

I am a former NP employee, and their response to the release of this song perfectly characterizes the firm. I have no doubt that the song was done, not in light-hearted fun, but with all seriousness: these folks DO believe they are all winners who deserve to be immortalized with a "cool" song, and are mortified that their overblown pride is now on display. That being said, they are a top-notch law firm with some amazing people. Just don't try to have any fun there!

No, I've never had dealings with NP. I just didn't like how they were handling a minor embarassment. To their credit, once the pushback from the internet started they realized it was hopeless and gave up trying to take the song down.
