Siran Stacy, standout running back for the Tide from 1989-91, and his daughter, take the game ball and shake hands with Coach Nick Saban. Then, Siran urges the crowd to cheer in an almost serendipitous moment, pausing to throw the game ball into the north end zone stands. In 2007, a drunk driver's vehicle struck a van carrying his family and him. Killed in the accident were four of his five children and his wife.

One of the most memorable moments to ever happen at Bryant-Denny stadium, I was there and the crowd erupted when this happened. Seeing this still brings tears to my eyes, and just shows how he has kept the Faith and overcome this. God bless you Siran, and keep on seeking Him daily!! Roll Tide!!

AWESOME!! I was there and he did that right in front of me. It was so inspiring! Really put things into perspective.I can't believe he threw is commemorative game ball in the stands but I thin he was making a point: After all I've been through this is just a game! Amen!

I took the video, and I, too, cried as I took it. I lost my wife to cancer, and the pain was immeasurable to me, but it strengthened my faith. I do not know what Siran was thinking as he ran down the sidelines, but you can almost sense him shedding everything and feeling, if only for a moment, a total lack of grief, for he seemed to be so full of joy, as if his family was there, along with his Alabama family.

I should be happy but I can only cry when thinking about what happened to Siran and his family.
