Cambodia's recent economic performance has been remarkable. Economic growth has averaged of 9.8% per annum for the last five years. Real GDP growth reached an all time record of 13.4% in 2005 and growth was maintained at 10.4% in 2006. Since 1999 inflation has averaged 5% per annum and exchange rates have remained stable. Income per capita increased 6% on average from US$247 in 1994 to US$500 in 2006. International reserves increased 11-fold from US$100 million in 1994 to US$1,097 million in 2006 and total exports increased 8-fold from US$463 million in 1994 to US$3,556 million in 2006. |
