I agree that paper money needs objective backing, but when we give a paper dollar to a foriegn country, it's still worth whatever unconsumed goods it represents, so we still trade value for value, just less reliably.

America's economy is going to collapse and thats a fact, maybe its from our massive inflation and the simple fact that our dollar is nothing but PAPER! it has no backing substance and only leaves other countries at the whim of our economy. It really doesn't matter how much we earn as everything in trade is just 1's and 0's, no gold no silver... nothing. This is the problem with the world today its like a circus, they create $ and it has nothing, we are in essence trading paper for goods.

cont."We over consume and never pay anything back"Are you kidding!? Every technology and innovation China has has come from American help. If it weren't for us, they'd still be in the stone age! America has done more for the development of lesser countries then they could ever hope to repay. The reason America has wealth is because we produce more than we consume, up until recently when people like Barrack Obama started penalizing produciton and rewarding consumption.

"Socialist Republic" just a name. Their system is in the spirit of communism. Do you call the US a Democracy?Innovation hasn't cost us anything. America is having problems becuase we have drifted away from capitalism. The US has never been pure capitalist, but our success has always been in proportion to how capitalist we are. The more collectivist we become, the worse off we are.
Thetruthinall (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
China is not Communist they are a Social Republic.Yea they like to have that one in the back pocket for when ever, haha, look at the cost our "innovation", we are going bankrupt economically and half that debt is OWNED by China, irony? who knows lol.We over consume and never pay anything back, China is in an ECONOMIC BOOM! they say if you leave China for a year and come back so much has been changed and added - buildings and what not.The North American Union is sounding good about now,

I was simplifying when I said "Grow out of it."The Chinese people are opressed because they are communist. It they were to follow the West's example and become capitalists, they would be creating and innovation too.
Thetruthinall (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
Sadly its alot more complicated then "growing out of it" but your right that we can become a better nation or any other nation for the matter. It is quite a pickle the world is in, even if a country wants to be free they still are at the mercy of foreign and national interest, which is China about now.I remember reading about the "great leap forward" and how deadly it truly was for the Chinese people, they are oppressed and to this day it still goes onI like your post though, its very true
shamgar001 (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
People 100 years a go may not have anything to do with china *directly*, but the point was America had them, we grew out of them. If third world countries follow America's example, they'll grow out of it too.
